Monthly Seminars aimed at gathering undergraduate and graduate students involved in research projects on the history of biology and its interfaces with science and biology teaching, in compulsory and higher education.


Past Seminars

2016-2009. Weekly Seminars on the History of Biology and Teaching aimed at gathering undergraduate and graduate students involved in research projects on the history of biology and its interfaces with science and biology teaching, in compulsory and higher education.

2009-2008. Seminars on the History of Science in Science Teaching, in co-organization with Thaís Cyrino de Mello Forato, held monthly to gather researchers interested in the inventory, analysis, and planning of research on the application of the history of science in teaching specific areas of science, in secondary and higher education.


The Seminars of History of Biology and Teaching develope three axes:

  • Methodology of research in history of science
  • Applications of the history of biology in teaching Sciences and Biology, in compulsory and higher education
  • Contributions from the history of science to the contextualized teaching of Sciences and Biology, in compulsory and higher education

Day: Wednesdays (in the first school semester) and Fridays (in the second school semester)
